Two CSX Employees Killed in Train Crash
Two CSX employees were killed and two others were injured in a rear-end collision that involved two CSX freight trains, according to news reports. CSX conductor Phillip E. Crawford Jr., 33, and locomotive engineer James Gregory Hadden, 36, both died in the May 24 train collision.
According to a CSX spokesperson, the train accident involved a train that was headed to Hamlet, N.C. from New Orleans and another that was headed to Charlotte from southern Georgia. The accident occurred on northbound tracks.
According to reports, both trains were being pulled by two locomotives. One of the trains was pulling 12 freight cars and the other was pulling nine.
