Dangerous Railroad Crossing in Need of Barrier
A fatal car-train crash in Indiana sparks outcry from commuter train officials. Officials, reportedly, say they want to see a median or some type of barrier added to a railroad crossing in Gary, Indiana.
The barrier would keep drivers from driving around lowering crossing arms. In a recent accident, two women died when the driver went around the crossing arms and was struck by a train. To date, seven people have died in similar accidents at the same crossing.
The city of Gary will have to approve a new barrier.
