Norfolk Southern Train Collision Kills One
A Sept. 22, 2010 collision between a Norfolk Southern train and a pick-up truck ends with one death. The fatal train accident happened in Piketon, Ohio at approximately 5:15 p.m. when a man driving a pickup attempted to cross the tracks between Wakefield Mound Road and U.S. 23.
Another passenger in the truck was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital via helicopter. He suffered head injuries, reports say.
An investigation is underway. According to reports there was another person in the truck at the time of the accident. He fled the scene and has not been identified, reports say.
No injuries were reported among passengers on the train.
